Compaq Presario CQ60-210US

Pros: While touted as a sub notebook this offering full of features. The screen is bright crisp. Has a media slot. This offering also plays wow and lord of the rings online well. It manages some sim games as well as roller coaster tycoon well. While i would not expect it to manage graphic intensive newer games , it does manage some what dated games very well
watched a movie recently with the dvd player. It was very easy . Just put the dvd in, and media player reconized it instantly .

Cons: Short battery life ( under 2 hours). 3 usb slots, no hdmi ( tv out put) no web cam
The outside of lap top is shiney black and a finger print magnet. Some might prefer to keep clear plastic sheet on it to deal with that

Summary: Very surprised at all the features and the fact with the 256 meg video that it handles some games very well. I had a net book . This was a better choice for me

warning it does not come with product recovery disks. However for about 16.00 you can order it on line or use phone support and get them to mail a product recover disk to you

I am extremely pleased with this laptop purchase and the excellent and thorough customer service issued by HP from delivery onward. I am not, in this concise review going to offer my perceptions of the outstanding technical ability of this unit due to space considerations. Suffice to say HP has been the leader in home and business computing for many years now and known widely and internationally as a top flight engineering and scientific plus corporation. To acquire a sophisticated unit from HP, having purchased this laptop myself through this site at a miraculous and more than competitive price point can only be considered by the customer to be a win/win situation. As someone owning a home business, reliability and functionality is of the utmost importance. My wife as well, organizing family sports events also profits from the accuracy that HP offers with this Compaq Presario laptop.

This system is a wonderful system. I purchased it for a friend and he has told me that he has had a wonderful experience with it. It has good performance and a great deal of system power. The specs do him well since he is a DJ and is now free of the system lock-ups in the middle of a session which was a common thing to experience with his previous system. Very lovely. Compliments to HP/Compaq.


Sharp, clear wide screen. Great picture, but it does widen your desktop photos so that people look short/wide. Fast, especially after you remove the HP "bloatware". Has a number pad, which is nice, but I needed some time to get used to the keypad arrangement being a little to the left because of it. No real cons, unless you want a webcam (doesn't have one), but those freak me out anyway!
I paid $399 at Staples, with rebates from HP to get a printer, too. Best deal I've gotten in a long time.


I LOVE this laptop. I was afraid that it was going to be bulky because it was so much cheaper than the others with similar features, but it's thin and sleek - very stylish and has awesome Altec Lansing speakers.
This was a great buy!
The only thing that's missing is a built-in webcam which is not important to me but could be to others.


I bought this one, with a 4GB RAM, from Staples, during their President's Day 2009 Sale.

The machine is very capable, comes with AMD Athelon X2 (Core 2 Duo type) processor, a whopping 4 GB RAM, NVidia Graphics card etc. It also comes with a 64 bit Windows Vista HOME PREMIUM. So thats much better than the Vista Home Basic.

The only thing different with this machine is its key board layout. Since it has a saperate number key-pad, the keys for Pageup, Page Down, Arrow Keys, Insert, Delete etc are either small or on some other location. That takes some time to get used to.

* Keyboard includes a numeric keypad
* Good sized Hard Drive
* DL DVD RW
* Fast Processor
* Lots of RAM (4GB)
* 3 USB ports
* Built in Wi-Fi support
* Built in Eathernet

* Built in 5-1 Memory Card reader

It has a 15.6 inch screen and comes with direct DVD playback. So its easy to watch movies on this laptop.

Overall, this machine is a wonderful machine for home and small business purposes.

The Compaq Presario CQ60-210US is a very nice, feature rich laptop for home or student use. I was truely impressed with ease of setup, which took about 15 minutes from opening the box and connecting the battery.

This is a rather large laptop and it is somewhat heavy, but not unreasonably so. Here are my observations:

* Large 15.6" screen is very sharp
* Keyboard includes a numeric keypad
* Good sized Hard Drive
* DL DVD RW
* Fast Processor (beats the heck out of my old ACER)
* Lots of RAM (expandable to 4GB)
* 3 USB ports
* Built in Wi-Fi support
* Built in Eathernet
* Built in Modem (but why? :-)
* Built in 5-1 Memory Card reader

Note that this laptop does not have any card expansion slots! This isn't a problem for me, but might be an issue for those wanting to add Firewire or other non-included (like DV) support.

The system scored a respectable 3.8 on the Windows performance scale, which is fairly good for a laptop.

Overall, I am very pleased with Presario CQ60-210US! Highly Recommended!


I love this notebook. I wanted something to use at home to search the web and check email. THe price was great and I love the the clarity of the digital screen. It does everything I want it to and the price (after rebates) was exceptional. I don't plan to burn DVDs so I can't comment on that aspect of it. I would highly recommend it to someone who wants an inexpensive laptop.


The description of this product indicates an integrated webcam is included however I've order 2 and this is NOT THE CASE!!!!

Toshiba Satellite L355-S7902 17.0-Inch Laptop

Great system, wife loves it, a bit bigger than she was expecting but great system.


I have had this laptop about three weeks now. First the good:

1. Amazon did a great job getting it to me fast and at a great price
2. Toshiba does a great job at the way they package this laptop. There customization and user manual is top rate
3. Toshiba service has been great to work with
4. Great ten key keyboard
5. I like have a manual switch to turn off the wireless card..cool feature
6. Nothing is in the back of the laptop making all connections very easy to get to
7. The performance and picture quality are wonderful

The bad:
1. The laptop is physically very big. I haven't traveled with it yet...but I am concerned with using it in coach on a plane
2. The finish is shinny black and it shows finger prints. I wish it had silver trim like in the Amazon picture. Mine didn't.

The ugly:
1. The DVD drive was broke on delivery. It worked but made loud noises
2. The NIC card broke after only one week
3. A local authorized Toshiba dealer repaired in about one week. It was like waiting for Christmas
4. I had the option of sending back to Amazon but elected not to because I had invested so much time in customizing it
5. I have had the laptop back one week now and it rocks. I am glad I had it repaired. The repair dealer highly recommended buying an extended warantee because of the expense of just having it looked at. I believe this to be sound advise. Also note that you need to do this right away because Toshiba only gives you a very short time to do it.

The moral of this story. Good things come in time.

Enjoy...it's still a great laptop.


The laptop works well. Only It didn't come with a detailed instruction manual. I haven't been able to access the internet.


Bought it today from Office Depot. Great screen, sharp image, whisper quite and quick. Best laptop I ever owned too. Set up and getting started was a breeze. Not sure how it will perform at a later date, but have always forund Toshiba products to be high quality.


I bought my laptop from another online vendor w/ 5 easy payments, so mine was a little more expensive than Amazon.com.
I love the color, It's not lightning fast, but quick enough, the keyboard is great for typing assignments, the number keys to the right are great, that is the main reason I chose a 17 inch laptop, plenty of hard drive space, and 3 GB is fine, but can be upgraded to 4. This is a very quiet laptop, the best I've ever owned.
